Senior AWS Cloud Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $150k
Security Clearance Required: TS/ SCI

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our
team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS & DevSecOps, including automation,
cloud services, and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs). This role requires a strong foundation in Linux
engineering and containerization technologies, along with proficiency in applying DISA Security Technical
Implementation Guides (STIGs) and operating within DevOps environments.
Responsibilities:
•Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure AWS cloud environments.
•Implement and maintain AWS services, including EC2, ELB, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, and
CloudFormation, among others.
•Develop automation scripts for efficient deployment and management of cloud resources using
tools such as AWS CLI, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
•Engineer robust Linux solutions and manage containerized applications using Docker and
Kubernetes.
•Apply DISA STIGs to ensure compliance with security standards and policies across all cloud and
containerized environments.
•Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software
development lifecycle, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)
pipelines.
•Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in cloud and Linux environments.
•Stay abreast of new AWS features and services and evaluate their applicability to our goals.
•Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members on AWS best practices,
Linux engineering, and DevOps methodologies.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
•Minimum of 5 years' experience in cloud engineering with a strong focus on AWS.
•Solid understanding of Linux/Unix Administration.
•Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and
Kubernetes.
•Proficient in one or more computer programming languages commonly used in scripting &
automation. IE: Bash, Python, Go, Rust
•Proficient in applying DISA STIGs within cloud and containerized environments.
•Demonstrated experience in automating cloud deployments and developing infrastructure as
code (IaC).
•Strong background in DevOps practices and tools, including Jenkins, Git, Ansible, and Terraform.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
•Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical
information to a non-technical audience.
•Possess and maintain relevant DoD 8570 IAT level II Certification.
•Possess one or more of the following certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS
SysOps Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS DevOps Professional, Certified
Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist, GIAC Cloud Security
