Job description

JOB TITLE: Senior Sales Manager

EMPLOYER: Nackard Pepsi, Prescott AZ

DEPARTMENT: Sales Organization

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales

EFFECTIVE DATE: Upon Hire

POSITION: Full-Time, Salary (to be discussed in interview)

SUMMARY:

Nackard Bottling Company, the family-owned exclusive Pepsi distributor serving northern Arizona, is seeking a Senior Sales Manager based in Prescott. This is a field-based leadership role responsible for managing four Area Sales Managers across Northern Arizona — Prescott, Flagstaff, Show Low, and the Verde Valley. The Senior Sales Manager reports directly to the Director of Sales and spends approximately 90% of their time in the market alongside the team, leading our sales and merchandising teams on execution and serving as a key driver of how Nackard products are sold, merchandised, and grown across every channel we serve.

SCHEDULE:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Full-Time, 50 hours/week — field-based, with approximately 90% of time spent in the market with the team

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead, coach, and develop four Area Sales Managers across the Prescott, Flagstaff, Show Low, and Verde Valley territories
  • Spend approximately 90% of time in the market working alongside sales and merchandising teams, leading execution at retail
  • Own execution standards across the region — displays, cold vault, shelf integrity, and promotional compliance
  • Drive CDA compliance across national and regional accounts, ensuring contracted space, features, and equipment commitments are met
  • Leverage IOD/NOD ordering platforms and Circana syndicated data to identify opportunities, close distribution gaps, and grow share
  • Prepare and present business reviews and proposals to internal leadership and external customers, using data to identify opportunities, defend space, and win new points of distribution
  • Apply strong street acumen — knowing the accounts, the buyers, and the competition — to win at the store level every day
  • Exhibit a blend of leadership discipline and sales instinct, with experience in beverage distribution, DSD, or CPG strongly preferred
  • Partner with delivery, warehouse, and merchandising leadership to ensure seamless execution across the DSD system
  • Manage territory-level performance against volume, revenue, and execution targets, holding Area Sales Managers accountable to results
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop sales talent to build bench strength across the Northern Arizona sales organization
  • Please note: no job description can anticipate every situation this role will face — and this one doesn’t try. The defining expectation is a resourceful problem solver: when something needs to get done, you own it, figure it out, and see it through.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position directly manages four (4) Area Sales Managers — Prescott, Flagstaff, Show Low, and Verde Valley — and provides field leadership to the sales and merchandising teams within those territories.

  • Syndicated data tools (Circana) and CDA compliance reporting
  • Order Processing Systems (VIP)
  • Spreadsheet Software (Excel)
  • Electronic Mail Software (Outlook)
