Join Our Team as an Attorney at Axiom

We are seeking a Banking & Financial Regulatory Counsel to join our Financial Institutions team. This role centers on regulatory compliance, capital management, and complex lending transactions. We are looking for a hands-on attorney with deep expertise in Basel III capital requirements, AML/KYC frameworks, and OCC regulations, as well as experience structuring syndicated loans and secured lending arrangements. The ideal candidate will bring strong familiarity with interbank transaction frameworks, combined with practical transactional and compliance capabilities across regulated banking and financial services environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan documentation, credit agreements, security documents, and intercreditor agreements related to syndicated loans and secured lending arrangements.
  • Providing legal guidance on Basel III capital management requirements, AML/KYC compliance obligations, and OCC regulatory matters.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders, compliance teams, risk management, and external counsel on lending transactions, regulatory initiatives, and interbank transactions.
  • Managing regulatory, transactional, and compliance-related legal issues for clients within the banking and financial services sector.
  • Staying ahead of evolving banking regulations, capital adequacy standards, and financial crime compliance requirements to provide proactive, strategic legal counsel.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial banking, financial regulation, or lending transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of Basel III requirements, AML/KYC frameworks, OCC regulations, and interbank transaction structures.
  • Proven track record of advising clients on syndicated loans, secured lending arrangements, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and licensed to practice law in an applicable jurisdiction.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with trade finance, receivables, payables, and supply chain or inventory financing.
  • Familiarity with working with bank regulators and supporting regulatory examinations or remediation efforts.
Compensation:

The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.  Employees may be eligible for additional benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays and PTO; flexible work arrangements; and professional development opportunities and tools.
