Loan Operations Specialist / Senior Loan Operations Specialist
Hybrid (three days onsite) in Wilmington, Delaware
Monday through Friday 8 to 5
Summary:
This position reports to the Head of Loan Operations (US) and will be a junior member of our dynamic team of professionals engaged in the delivery of a range of operational services on complex capital markets transactions.
The CSC Delaware Trust portfolio is growing both in size and complexity. An experienced individual is required to support the growth and adequately manage the day-to-day administration of a diverse range of transactional requirements.
The successful candidate will be required to work closely with a broad range of stakeholders including investment banks, private equity and private credit funds, law firms, and audit firms. It is not unusual to have direct contact with client CFO's and Treasury Managers, and therefore a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are essential.
Some of the things you will be doing:
The candidate in this role will support an assigned book of business, with volume fluctuating quarterly. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Invoicing Borrowers
  • Processing Loan Rollovers
  • Supporting Letter of Credit Activity
  • Facilitating & Managing Loan Payments
  • Facilitating Unscheduled Repayments/Borrowings
  • Generating Reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)
  • Ensuring compliance with data governance standards for all deals and stakeholders across internal and external databases.
  • Maintaining all aspects within the Loan System for their assigned deals. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Bank/Borrower/Credit Agreement/Lender Identifiers
    • Holiday Calendars
    • Borrower/Lender Standard Settlement Instructions
    • Global and Position Borrower/Lender Data
    • Lender Registers
    • Contact Distributions for Agent Notices as well as Credit Contacts
    • Tax Information for all Borrower and Lender Details
  • Addressing inbound stakeholder queries via email or phone promptly and in alignment with business standards
  • Reading/Reviewing Credit Agreements / Facility Agreements for operation continuity
  • Assisting Transaction Managers with Deal Closings and preliminary reviews
  • Documenting Operational Procedures

What technical skills, qualifications, and experience do you need?
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or 1-5+ years of Banking and/or Relevant Financial Services Experience (Loan Operations) experience
  • Knowledge of Loan Facility Agreements and understanding of roles involved in Bilateral, Syndicated Loans, and Project Finance Loans. Additional experience in other areas such as bonds or structured finance will also be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of financial markets and products is essential, as is experience in the use of payments systems for confirming and settling these products
  • Experience using WSO, Loan IQ, DebtDomain, iLEVEL, ClearPar or other similar loan/banking platform preferred
  • Understanding of general loan operations workflow, with the ability to recognize key issues related to clients' loan activities and the knowledge of the necessary steps for remediating those issues
  • Understanding of the processes of deal structuring, distribution, documentation, funding, and post-closing management. Proactively identifying and resolving challenges to ensure smooth operation and compliance with regulatory and internal standards
  • Eye for detail in reviewing financial documents, structuring deals, and accurately calculating rates, fees, payouts, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively with numbers, identify discrepancies, and maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks directly contributes to the smooth execution of loan transactions and the elimination of errors or operational risks
  • Ability to generate ad hoc calculations as needed for a customer/client. Ad hoc calculations include but are not limited to the following: interest calculations, paydown calculations, pro-rata splits, per diem calcs, payoff letter calculations, etc.
  • Commitment to ensuring thorough and robust quality checks in all aspects of loan processing, with a focus on maintaining high standards and not compromising on accuracy or compliance
  • Proficiency in using MS Office suite of applications, with a particular focus towards Excel
