Job Summary:

Summary Of Essential Functions:
โ€ข Attract and Retain members by consistently providing excellent customer service
โ€ข Employee leads by example, consistently conveying a positive attitude, passion and pride in their work
โ€ข Responsible for interacting with employees, members and guests in a manner aligned with the People, Places and Programs components of the Village Standards
โ€ข Assists in organizing Club special aquatic events and programs
โ€ข Works with Aquatics Director to develop and clinics and lessons
โ€ข Recruits and engages members in swim meets/programs
โ€ข Be at swimming area 15 minutes or more (as needed) before instruction periods to have tools, supplies and area ready for activities.
โ€ข Responsible for keeping regular inventory of all swim supplies and equipment condition and need for supplies.
โ€ข Attend swim meets when directed to by head coach
โ€ข Maintain equipment and supplies in proper working order, in an orderly, clean manner.
โ€ข Maintains pool area in a clean and orderly condition and participates in other duties assigned
Knowledge/Skills Required:
โ€ข Must have Swim Coaching experience
Obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire through Company training
โ€ข Motivated and energetic demeanor
โ€ข Must have intricate knowledge of the four competitive strokes and how to teach those skills to members.
โ€ข May be required to work evenings and weekends as needed
โ€ข Required to maintain a physical presence within the Village to perform assigned
Knowledge/Skills Preferred:
โ€ข Life Guard and/or USA Swimming Coach certification preferred
Required Abilities
Physical Activity
This position requires frequent swimming, standing, walking, grasping, bending and kneeling in regards to swim instruction. Including the ability to climb pool ladders. Sitting for some periods of time. Substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the body, twisting, stretching, reaching, pulling and pushing. Involved in activities where one must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Requires the ability to receive detailed information through written and oral communication.
Physical Requirement
Swimming, walking and standing are required daily. Frequently lift and/or us force up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or use force up to 50 pounds
Visual Requirement
This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: watching members in a pool setting and coaching lessons
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an athletic club environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high and in hot weather
