Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of financial records. The Staff Accountant will handle general accounting duties including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting, and will assist with audits and compliance requirements.
Duties / Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and post journal entries for routine and adjusting transactions.
  2. Perform monthly account reconciliations (bank, balance sheet, and income statement accounts).
  3. Assist with the month-end and year-end close process.
  4. Maintain accurate general ledger records.
  5. Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements.
  6. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
  7. Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  8. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  9. Assist with tax filings, including sales tax, property tax, or income tax support.
  10. Identify process improvements and assist with implementation.
  11. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required :
  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. Must be computer literate, i.e. accounting software, spreadsheet application and word processor programs. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics software is helpful.
  3. 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  4. Strong working knowledge of GAAP.
  5. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
  6. Must be organized and detail oriented.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to interact with all levels of personnel in a professional manner.
  9. Ability to always maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism under pressure.
  10. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  11. Must satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check.

Preferred :
  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or additional relevant job experience.
  2. Dynamics Great Plains experience.
  3. Knowledge of IFRS, focusing on Revenue Recognition.

Physical Conditions / Requirements
  • No unusual physical requirements. It requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is done in a comfortable indoor facility.
  • Occasional - Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
  • Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
  • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Hearing requirements: Ability to hear people over the telephone and in person.
  • Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
