Job description

Outpatient Physical Therapist

$10,000.00 sign on / retention bonus

SVMC is seeking an outpatient physical therapist to see patients in our outpatient department on the main hospital campus (Bennington, VT).

In consultation with the referring provider, the Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, developing, implementing, and documenting a plan of treatment for patients of all ages. As an Outpatient Physical Therapist at SVMC, you'll be a partner in your patients' recovery journeys. You'll work with individuals of all ages and conditions, from post-surgical athletes eager to get back on the field to older adults striving to maintain mobility and independence. Your expertise will directly improve quality of life, empower patients to take charge of their health, and strengthen the fabric of our community.

Requirements: MS degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school required. DPT is required for new grads. Prior physical therapy experience preferred, but new grads are encouraged to apply. A Vermont State license to practice physical therapy is required on hire. Health Care Provider BLS within 90 days of hire and current CPR certification required.

A weekend fair turn commitment in our inpatient department is required. In addition, this position has the opportunity to supervise physical therapist assistants and students. We encourage therapists to apply who may be seeking an alternative working schedule as SVMC is willing to be flexible with scheduling and accommodating to varying hours. Candidates may have an opportunity to work at one of our satellite locations (Deerfield Valley Health Center in Wilmington, VT, Northshire Medical Center in Manchester, VT or Twin Rivers in Hoosick Falls, NY), if desired.

Outpatient rehabilitation provides physical, occupational and speech therapy at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and SVMC's satellite campuses across the region. The rehabilitation program services patients of all ages with many specialty rehab services available including but not limited to vestibular therapy, hand therapy and lymphedema therapy.
