The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders. This role may require travel, as needed, to manufacturing sites to support design transfer activities.

WhatYou'llDo

  • Lead the development, verification, and implementation of technical solutions for design modifications, manufacturing process changes, and product updates to enhance performance, quality, manufacturability, and reliability.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally and provide technical support to manufacturing, suppliers and customer service teams.

  • Facilitate the transition of new designs into manufacturing.

  • Address component shortages and obsolescence, including qualifying alternative parts and/or materials.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and documentation of product specifications, technical drawings, bill of materials and inspection plans throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Perform failure analysis on returned products and evaluate customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for enhancement.

  • Collaborate with Quality to support corrective actions, non-conformance investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as the liaison between R&D and Manufacturing & Operations, facilitating the transfer of product intent and production knowledge.

Who You Are

  • Engineering Degree in either Mechanical, Material, Industrial or related field.

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in product support, sustaining engineering, product design, or related roles.

  • Proven experience supporting products throughout their lifecycle by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and validating the effectiveness of design solutions.

  • Proven experience overseeing engineering changes throughout the entire process, including their integration into manufacturing.

  • Background in regulated industries, preferably in the medical device sector.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Track record of effectively handling multiple projects or tasks at the same time.

  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD, FMEA, data analysis).

  • Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerancing.
