Job description

Odyssey is seeking candidates for a Sustainment Logistics Manager Journeyman supporting FMS Branch Office in Colorado Springs. This role will be instrumental in supporting Missile Warning, Missile Defense (MW/MD) to critical FMS partners around the world.


Duties include, but not limited to: 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative government and contractor logistics project team
  • Utilize the tenets of the DoD Product Support Manager Guidebook and apply understanding of the 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements for program requirements in focus areas such as Technical Orders, Obsolescence Management, Sparing Analysis, Property Accountability (Contractor Acquired Property (CAP), Government Furnished Property (GFP), Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), Software Licensing, Hardware Warranties, facilities, and services
  • Provide expert logistics input on Request for Proposals (RFPs), Statement of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs), Deactivated Equipment Lists (DEL), Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL), and Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP)
  • Coordinate and integrate along with the efforts of engineers, cyber security specialists, test managers and other functional specialists to determine system requirements and develop/adjust the plans that support those systems
  • Review and recommend changes to program-unique specifications to include system specifications, development specifications, and product specifications for both hardware and software, for proper format, content, and compliance with program requirements and standards
  • Provide analytical support for key logistics metrics (reliability, availability, maintainability, etc.) and provide them for key logistics reviews
  • Apply knowledge of the acquisition lifecycle and product support planning during each phase AND
  • Contribute to briefings and brief senior government and contractor leadership such as Division Chiefs, Chief of Logistics, etc. Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Become the expert on designated logistics roles that complement other team members’ expertise while also providing reinforcing support on cross-trained duties
  • Provide technical support and analysis on field, depot and modification program issues
  • Correlate logistics requirements with program plans to ensure that required support is provided at the right time and place
  • Provide technical maintenance and TO support to users; regularly by telephone, email, and local meetings or irregularly by direct field-support
  • Apply Agile and/or Waterfall development methodologies to both hardware and software projects
  • Prepare or assist with preparation of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) to support configuration changes and inspections
  • Work independently and/or as part of a collaborative project team to integrate logistics requirements into planning or logistics management of the program
  • Apply knowledge of the acquisition lifecycle and product support planning, in accordance with the DoD 5000 series instructions, during each phase of acquisition
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products as the primary software tools

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Secret with the ability to obtain a Top Secret

Education: AAS, BS or MS

Years of Experience: AAS and 8 years of functional experience in project sustainment logistics with at least 5 years of experience in the Defense Industry OR BA/BS and 5 years of functional experience in project sustainment logistics, 3 of which must be in the Defense Industry   

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: Top Secret/SCI

Education: AAS, BS or MS

Years of Experience: 10+ of relevant experience in direct support of a USAF/USSF System Program Office

Additional Experience: Systems knowledge of and experience working with Ground Based Radar Systems

Additional Experience: Experience performing logistics sustainment support for the prior SSC/SZQ or current MD4/4STS is desired

Additional Experience: Prior military service to include proven leadership and management of personnel and programs

Technical Skills

  • Knowledgeable of Foreign Military Sales
  • Knowledgeable of C2 Systems
  • Knowledge of Ground-Based Radar and Infra-Red systems
  • Knowledge of Missile Warning operations
  • Knowledgeable in Global Command and Control Systems
  • Knowledgeable in Cross Domain Solutions
  • Previous active-duty military experience

  • Cultural Sensitivity:  Interactions with FMS customers requires adapting to cultural and business norms for that country.

Additional Information

Location: The position is performed at Hanscom AFB, located in MA 

Travel: Travel might be required up to 25%

Hybrid: Remote flexibility 1-2 days per week – subject to change per the customer’s discretion

Compensation: $86,400-$123,000 annually

Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as the Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
