Job description


1. Supervises and trains Surveyor Assistants.
2. Works outdoors in all weather conditions.
3. Work at elevation on structures. Collect survey data and perform layouts in accordance with Bechtel Surveying Procedures.
4. Marks points of measurement with elevation, station number, or other identifying mark.
5. Carries and sets stakes and clears brush from survey lines.
6. Stake and grade for excavation.
7. Operates survey instruments and obtains data pertaining to angles, elevations, points, and contours.
8. Compiles notes, sketches, and records of data obtained, and work performed.
9. Communicate with Field Engineers and Supervisors
10. Work under time constraints and be adaptable to changing conditions.
11. Assists in establishing horizontal and vertical control for the project.
12. Reviews design drawing for correct data and check calculations
13. Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
14. Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.
15. Assists in lifting, positioning and securing materials and work pieces during installation.
16. Adheres to safety procedures.
