Job description

Who we are:

Urban Ltd provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture, and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.


Urban is currently seeking a Survey Land Plat Specialist / Manager (DOE) with at least 4 years of experience in survey drafting and/or plat preparation.

This position can be based in Annandale or Chantilly, VA.


The compensation range for this position is: $80,000 - $125,000.

The actual offer is based on experience.


The successful candidate prepares subdivision plats, boundary plats, easement plats, and related survey documents to support land development projects. This role directly supports the Engineering Team by drafting and processing plats associated with land development applications.

This position is in office 5-days a week.


Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Prepare subdivision plats, boundary plats, record plats, and easement exhibits
  • Draft survey documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • If required, revises plats based on jurisdictional review comments
  • Research deeds, title reports, and existing survey records
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field crews to confirm survey data
  • Ensure documents meet local, state, and recordation requirements
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation


Qualifications

  • 4-5+ years of experience in survey drafting or plat preparation
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Understanding of subdivision regulations and local review processes
  • Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions and title documents
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
