Overview
We are seeking a Medical Surgical CNA, also referred to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Med-Surg CNA. A Med Surg CNA will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA, will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.
Employment Type: Full Time
Shifts Available: Nights
Hours: 12-Hour shifts - 7:00pm to 7:00am
Location: St. Joesph Medical Center Kansas City, MO

Responsibilities
** If you have recently earned your Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License and have no prior experience, we encourage you to apply. Entry-Level CNAs are welcome to apply!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
  • Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient's condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
  • Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe
  • Assist in transporting patients within the hospital
Qualifications
Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required
  • Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current
Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:
  • Minimum six months' previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred
