About this role:

As a Physician in General Surgery, you will join a collaborative team of healthcare professionals committed to delivering high-quality care and an excellent patient experience at Intermountain Medical Center, a 500-bed, Level I Trauma Center in Murray, Utah. This role offers a broad general surgery practice with a strong mix of elective and acute care surgery, including hernia, gallbladder, breast, foregut, appendectomy, and emergency general surgery cases. The practice is well suited for a surgeon who values clinical variety, enjoys working in a high-acuity environment, and is interested in practicing in an academic setting with resident involvement.

  • This position includes a $30,000 sign-on bonus, up to $20,000 in relocation assistance based on distance, a competitive salary with production incentive, and an annual bonus opportunity based on continuous improvement.
  • You will practice at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, with approximately 2 days in clinic and 2 days in the OR each week. The practice includes resident collaboration and access to a robust robotic surgery platform.
  • Call is shared at 1:7 and includes approximately 4 nights per month in the acute care surgery rotation. Hospital-based call compensation is included.
  • You can expect approximately 40 post-op and pre-op clinic visits and 6 to 12 operative cases per week.

What you'll bring:

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
  • Fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Advanced GI, or Abdominal Wall Reconstruction is preferred but not required
  • New graduates are welcome to apply
  • Proficiency in robotic surgery required; robotic certification is preferred
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • BLS and ACLS certification, as well as DEA registration
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process
