Job Summary:
HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a full-time, experienced physician assistant (PA-C) or nurse practitioner (APRN) to join our cardiothoracic surgery and transplant/MCS team at Florida Advanced Cardiothoracic Surgery in Largo, FL.
APP will be responsible for first assisting in all CVOR cases (including CABG, valve repair and replacements, aortic surgery, LVAD, heart transplantation, impella, ECMO, thoracic procedures, EVH/ERAH, chest closure), inpatient rounding in the ICU and floors, consult clinic duties, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary team. Our practice sees a wide variety of pathologies and has a high acuity patient census. This is an excellent opportunity for a PA/NP interested in practicing at the top of their scope.
Qualified Candidates:
  • Must be board certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
  • Must hold or be able to obtain an active Florida license prior to start
  • Surgical first assist experience is prefered
  • Endoscopic Vein Harvest (EVH) experience is preferred
  • Experience in advanced heart failure (LVAD, impella, ECMO, heart transplant) is a plus
  • Call includes rotating weekday and one weekend per month
