How much do surgeon entry level jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 28, 2026, the average yearly pay for surgeon entry level in the United States is $339,174.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $303,000.00 and $400,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is the average age of entry level surgeons?

Entry-level surgeons typically begin their careers in their early to mid-30s after completing undergraduate education, medical school, and surgical residency, which usually takes around 10-15 years post-high school. The average age at entry is generally between 30 and 35 years old.

What is the most entry level medical job?

An entry-level medical job for someone interested in surgery is typically a surgical technologist or a medical assistant, both of which require less extensive education than a surgeon. These roles often involve supporting surgical teams or providing patient care and may require certification or on-the-job training. Becoming a surgeon generally requires many years of education and training beyond entry-level positions.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

Entry-level surgeons typically do not earn $10,000 a month without extensive education and training; most medical roles require advanced degrees and certifications. Jobs that can pay $10,000 monthly without a degree include certain sales positions, real estate agents, or skilled trades like commercial pilots or experienced entrepreneurs, but these often require specialized skills, licenses, or significant experience. High earnings without a degree are generally found in sales, entrepreneurship, or specialized trades rather than entry-level medical roles.

What is the lowest salary of a surgeon?

The lowest salary for an entry-level surgeon varies by region and specialty but typically starts around $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Salaries increase with experience, specialization, and geographic location, and surgeons often work long hours in high-stakes environments requiring advanced training and certification.
