Job description

Position Title: GFEBS Functional Support Specialist

Location:Remote with some travel (less than 25%)

FLSA Classification: Exempt- Salaried

Employment Class: Full Time-Regular

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) Functional Support Specialist to provide comprehensive functional, training, and advisory support to approximately 600 CONUS users. Qualified candidates should have 7+ years' relevant experience within the last 10 years across all core GFEBS functionalities to ensure effective and auditable business practices. Responsibilities include hands-on end-user assistance, over-the-shoulder and virtual training, development of job aids and BI reports, reimbursable and spending chain processing support, and troubleshooting SAP interface (IDOC) issues. The role assesses user capabilities, performs end-user and function mapping, supports change management and system cutover activities, and develops business and system process flows to ensure compliant, efficient, and auditable financial operations. The position also provides end-of-fiscal-year surge support, maintains advanced knowledge of GFEBS and interfacing systems, and delivers consistent program management support through weekly status reports, labor hour tracking, forward-looking work schedules, and timely invoice submissions.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide functional GFEBS support and advisory services to approximately 600 end users, ensuring compliant, effective, and auditable financial business practices. This includes travel to six (6) locations for at least five (5) days per trip.

Assist and train users on GFEBS core modules and transactions.

Deliver hands-on Spending Chain and reimbursable process support, including Purchase Requests (PR)/Purchase Orders (PO) processing, Goods Receipts/Invoice Receipts (GR/IR) and clearing documents, sales order creation, collections, and funding validation.

Develop and deliver user training through multiple methods (over-the-shoulder, telephone, VTC, and web conferencing) and produce job aids to reinforce best practices and transaction accuracy.

Analyze and assess end-user capabilities, perform end-user and functional mapping, and support change management, cutover activities, and system transitions.

Troubleshoot GFEBS and SAP interface issues, including IDOC monitoring and error resolution, and maintain advanced knowledge of GFEBS business processes and interfacing systems.

Provide program management support through surge assistance during fiscal year closeout, preparation of process flows, weekly status and labor reports, forward-looking schedules, and timely invoicing.

Education & Experience Requirements
Education:

High School Diploma

Experience:

7+ years' experience within the last 10 years executing GFEBS transactions across the following core functionalities (i.e., Funds Management (FM), Financials (FI), Spending Chain (SC), Sales and Distribution (SD), Accounts Receivable (AR), Reimbursable Accounting (AC), and Controlling (CO)). This includes:

Processing Purchase Requests (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), Goods Receipts/Invoice Receipts (GR/IR), and clearing documents;

Establishing sales orders, evaluating results of the GFEBS billing process, and establishing funding or down payments are properly recorded in GFEBS; and

Establishing pre-commitment and commitment documents, annual funded programs (AFP) and allotments; and the movement of Annual Fund Plan (AFP) and/or allotment to cost objects.

Adept at providing training and assistance to users through multiple mediums, including over-the-shoulder, telephone, video teleconference, and web conferencing.

Adept at producing job aids for GFEBS transactions and business processes
