Job description

Company Overview
Avantos AI is shaping the future of client relationship management by reimagining it through the lens of artificial intelligence. We are building the industry's first AI-native operating system for financial services, transforming how firms onboard clients, deliver advice, and manage critical servicing workflows. Our platform consolidates fragmented data, automates complex processes, and embeds intelligent decision-making throughout every stage of the client lifecycle.
Supported by Bessemer Ventures and MIT's investment arm, our team comprises execution-focused, design-driven, product-centric founders and leaders from Wharton, MIT, top design programs, and unicorn SaaS companies. We move swiftly, tackle deep industry challenges, and build technology that empowers users to take charge of their workflows.
If you thrive on client impact, innovative product design, and tackling complex problems, Avantos is the place for you.
About the Role
Imagine owning two of the most important surfaces of an AI-native platform for financial advisors: the mobile app they reach for on the go, and the Journey Builder where their workflows come to life. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll own both end-to-end. You're a strong product generalist with genuine native mobile depth, the kind of designer who can hold two adjacent surfaces, make the platform calls confidently, and ship craft work without needing a fully-formed playbook to start.
Design here is moving fast. We prototype in code, build our own AI tooling, and re-evaluate how we work as quickly as the tools change. Joining now means you help shape that process rather than inherit it. The things we hold constant are the ones that do not go out of date: getting to the essence of a hard problem, sweating the details that earn it, and staying close to the people who use what we ship.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Product Designer you will:
  • Own the Avantos Mobile App end-to-end, partnering closely with mobile engineering on the platform-shaped patterns that make it feel native
  • Own Journey Builder end-to-end, partnering with engineering on the flow logic and step-orchestration patterns at the heart of how advisors work
  • Make the parity-vs-divergence calls between the mobile and web experiences, knowing when to share patterns and when the platform asks for something different
  • Contribute mobile-specific and journey-orchestration patterns back into our design system, in partnership with our Principal Designer
  • Run lightweight user research as part of your design process
  • Help shape the culture, craft, and rituals of a growing design team

Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of product design experience with real native mobile depth (iOS, Android, or both), as part of a broader product-design background, not responsive web with occasional mobile work
  • The range of a strong generalist: comfortable owning two adjacent surfaces and switching between a mobile interaction problem and a web orchestration problem
  • Strong opinions on platform-shaped patterns (iOS Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design) with the judgment to know when to break them
  • Expertise in Figma and design systems, with the ability to translate patterns across platforms without losing native feel
  • A track record of owning surfaces end-to-end through ambiguity and iteration
  • Comfort prototyping in code and with AI, and genuine curiosity about how AI is changing the way we design and build

Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in B2B SaaS or fintech complexity; financial services experience welcome but not required
  • Experience at consumer-grade mobile companies where the bar on interaction craft is high
  • Experience designing AI-native or agentic features and rethinking familiar patterns around them
  • Experience designing workflow, automation, or orchestration tools
  • Previous experience in a small team or startup with a scrappy, ownership-driven approach

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation + meaningful equity.
  • The opportunity to shape the design foundation of a greenfield AI platform: the system, the craft bar, and how design works here
  • A rare chance to bring service design thinking to scale, reshaping how advice and servicing are delivered across major financial institutions
  • A culture built for craft, focus, deep work, and ownership, where design shapes the product rather than decorating someone else's spec
