Class B Grinder Operator (Stainless Steel Tanks)
Location: Watson Custom Tanks
Shift: Monday - Thursday 7am-5:30pm
Pay: $26-28/hr
Join a fast-growing stainless steel fabrication team where precision matters. Watson Custom Tanks is hiring a Class B Grinder Operator to grind, finish, and repair welded vessel components to exact cosmetic and quality standards.
What you'll do
  • Precision grind head-to-shell seams and blended welds (up to 180 grit / 30 Ra max)
  • Remove arc marks, gouges, digs, lumps, and hook marks; restore cosmetic and structural integrity
  • Perform surface prep, seam blending, and post-treatment repairs (including re-dye checks)
  • Grind internal/external cylindrical, tapered, flat, conical surfaces; select wheels, speeds, feeds, and fixtures
  • Complete QC documentation (traveler lines), support P.T. and repair work as needed
  • Work safely with hand tools, lifts/hoists, and occasionally in confined spaces; follow PPE and safety procedures
