Job description

Summary:

Responsible for transporting orders to and from warehouse(s) over established route while adhering to all Company work rules and DOT regulations. This position requires the safe operation of a 53-foot commercial vehicle to deliver products. An effective Truck Driver must be aware of company policies and procedures and must also be familiar with the department equipment, personnel, and quality criteria.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily inspections on all safety sensitive equipment (trucks/forklift/etc.) to be utilized in preparing and or the delivery of orders per OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Follow and maintain loading and unloading protocols and confirm the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document.
  • Ensure the trailer is hitched properly and attached securely to the tractor unit; ensure contents are properly secured in trailer to prevent damage or injury.
  • Keep all equipment clean and free of debris including truck cab, trailer, and truck bays.
  • Pickup and safely transport and deliver products to the intended destination.
  • Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to manager.
  • Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, tire pressure, etc).
  • Notify manager of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
  • Report any accidents or injuries immediately.
  • Acquire a forklift certification to help in warehouse when needed.
