Marina Consultation and Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This full-time position allows you to work remotely while providing essential mental health services focused on the geriatric population. As a member of our mental health team, your expertise will play a pivotal role in nurturing and enhancing the mental well-being of elderly patients in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Work Environment

This position offers a full-time work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs. As a remote position, you will have the flexibility to provide therapeutic services in an environment that suits you best while always being connected with our interdisciplinary team of geriatric psychiatrists and support professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments, addressing the distinct needs and challenges faced by older adults, including situational, emotional, and cognitive factors.
  • Design and implement personalized treatment plans that consider not only psychological but also physical and social dimensions of health in elderly patients.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as individual therapy and family therapy to effectively treat geriatric psychiatric conditions.
  • Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate a comprehensive and cohesive treatment approach.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for elderly patients experiencing mental health emergencies, ensuring safety and stability.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding mental health diagnoses, treatment options, and community resources, empowering them to actively participate in their care.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
  • Engage in regular team meetings and case consultations, actively sharing knowledge and insights to enhance collective practice.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in geriatric psychiatry and integrate the latest research findings into treatment approaches.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client base consists primarily of older adults facing a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties. Qualifications
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
  • Strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and the ability to apply evidence-based treatment modalities appropriately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with elderly patients and their families.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and familiarity with digital tools.
  • A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience.

The annual salary for this role ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000, reflecting experience and qualifications.
