SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Material Support Technician (Swing Shift) to support an opportunity at Davis Monthan AFB.

Position Overview Section

The Material Support Technician will perform depot material-control and supply functions as a Production Support Technician (PST). Responsibilities include identifying and resolving parts-supportability issues, researching component availability, initiating purchase requests, maintaining appropriate stock levels, processing material transactions, and supporting hazardous-material management.

The position requires strong knowledge of supply and logistics processes, attention to detail, research and analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with maintenance production personnel.

Essential Job Functions

Depot Material Control and Production Support

• Perform depot material-control and supply functions in support of maintenance production shops.
• Coordinate material-support activities with Production Support personnel and supported maintenance organizations.
• Research, analyze, and perform corrective and preventive actions related to parts supportability and availability using Government-provided data.
• Research customer component parts and determine availability through authorized supply channels.
• Initiate purchase requests for parts and materials required by supported production shops in accordance with applicable Air Force instructions, supplements, and Government regulations.
• Authorize, order, receive, issue, and perform customer front-end Job Order Number (JON) edits for requirements submitted by supported maintenance shops.
• Maintain appropriate on-hand inventory levels to support production requirements.
• Ensure JONs are properly charged for material issued.
• File and maintain material transaction receipts and supporting documentation.

Material Availability and Inventory Operations

• Monitor applicable Government Management Information Systems (MIS) to review, analyze, and resolve unplanned material orders and other material-support requirements.
• Coordinate material requirements with Production Support personnel to reduce excess serviceable and unserviceable material and facilitate appropriate turn-in actions.
• Review, validate, and update back-order status.
• Communicate changes in material availability and update expected delivery dates.
• Retrieve and deliver material to the appropriate maintenance organizations or authorized entities.
• Perform turn-in transactions for Integrated Prime Vendor (IPV) bench stock.
• Perform turn-in operations and documentation for Due-In for Maintenance (DIFM) items.
• Support Facilitate Other Maintenance (FOM) programs.
• Perform Demand History Adjustments (DHA) as required.
• Monitor inventory levels and material demand to ensure production requirements are adequately supported.

Hazardous Material Management

• Perform maintenance material operations involving hazardous materials using the Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health Management Information System (EESOH-MIS) or current authorized hazardous-material tracking system.
• Authorize, order, receive, issue, and account for hazardous materials in accordance with applicable Air Force environmental, safety, and occupational health requirements.
• Maintain accurate hazardous-material inventory and transaction records.
• Build management reports identifying:
  • Reorder requirements
  • Shelf-life information
  • Inventory levels
  • Back-order status
• Ensure hazardous materials are properly stored in accordance with applicable guidance.
• Comply with area-specific controls and procedures established by local environmental management organizations.
• Ensure hazardous-material lockers and storage areas remain compliant with applicable requirements.
• Support EESOH-MIS/hazardous-material

Technical Research and Stock-Level Management

• Research technical requirements, catalogs, and logistics databases to identify cost-effective available substitutes and replacement products.
• Coordinate with Production Support personnel to evaluate alternative parts and materials.
• Determine appropriate stock levels for recurring and specialized items based on:
  • Historical usage
  • Current inventory
  • Project requirements
  • Seasonal demands
  • Changing customer requirements
  • Project depletion rates
• Analyze usage and demand trends to help maintain adequate material availability while minimizing excess inventory.

Supply System Transactions

• Accurately process supply transactions in the Integrated Logistics System–Supply (ILS-S) and other applicable Government systems.
• Process transactions including:
  • Issue requests
  • Due-In for Maintenance (DIFM) updates
  • Item record and part-number loads
  • Mission Impaired Capability Awaiting Parts (MICAP) verification
  • Lateral shipments
  • Standard supply system transactions
• Verify transaction information for accuracy and completeness.
• Research and correct transaction discrepancies as required.
• Maintain accurate electronic records supporting material accountability and production operations.

Government Logistics Data Research

• Research Government web-based logistics data systems and prepare required reports.
• Use applicable systems and research tools, including:
  • Air Force Supply Central Database (AFSCDB) Tableau
  • D043
  • Federal Logistics Data (Fed LOG)
  • Federal Logistics Information System Web Search (Web FLIS)
  • Enhanced Technical Information Management System (ETIMS)
  • Basing and Logistics Analytics Data (BLADE)
  • DoD email and other authorized Government systems
• Cross-reference logistics databases to validate part numbers, availability, transaction history, and other supply information.
• Apply research findings to support material decisions and resolve supply issues.

Bench Stock, Shop Stock, and Operating Stock

• Maintain Bench Stock, Shop Stock, Operating Stock, and Work Orders in accordance with applicable Air Force and AMARG guidance.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify items requiring replenishment.
• Maintain accurate stock records and ensure material is available to support production requirements.
• Process applicable additions, issues, replenishments, and turn-ins.
• Identify excess or obsolete material and coordinate appropriate disposition with Production Support personnel.

Procurement Research

• Conduct procurement research for parts and materials that are not available through normal Government supply channels.
• Identify commercially available sources and provide cost-effective purchasing options to Government personnel.
• Research alternate sources, substitute items, availability, and pricing as appropriate.
• Provide procurement recommendations and supporting information to authorized Government personnel.
• The Government retains sole authority for verification, approval, and execution of Government Purchase Card (GPC) transactions.

Material Turn-In and Shipping Preparation

• Ensure items being turned into supply are properly prepared for shipment.
• Verify that material is appropriately tagged, identified, packaged, and documented.
• Ensure required documentation accompanies material being returned to supply.
• Coordinate turn-in activities with appropriate supply and Production Support personnel.
• Maintain accountability and traceability of material throughout the turn-in process.

Minimum Position Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in material control, supply, inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, procurement, or a related field.
• Experience using computerized inventory, supply, or logistics-management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to maintain accurate inventory and transaction records.
• Ability to research and analyze supply, inventory, and logistics information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance personnel, supply organizations, Government representatives, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize multiple material requirements in a production-oriented environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and related data-management tools.
• Ability to learn and effectively use Government/DoD automated logistics systems.

Highly Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting U.S. Air Force, DoD, aerospace, aviation, aircraft maintenance, depot, or military logistics operations.
• Experience with MAXIMO, Impresa, ILS-S, EESOH-MIS, D043, Fed LOG, Web FLIS, ETIMS, BLADE, or AFSCDB.
• Knowledge of Air Force supply and material-management processes.
• Experience with hazardous material inventory and tracking.
• Experience with bench stock, shop stock, operating stock, DIFM, MICAP, IPV, or similar depot supply processes.
• Familiarity with Air Force maintenance and supply publications, including DAFI 21-101, DAFMAN 23-300, AFMCI 21-100 series, DAFMAN 21-201, and DAFI 21-102.
• Experience researching substitute parts, commercial sources, or alternate material solutions.
• Experience supporting Government Purchase Card procurement research.
• Knowledge of aircraft maintenance, reclamation, production, or depot operations.
