Job description

About Us

WheelHouse Online is the digital marketing agency division of WheelHouse IT, an established managed IT services provider. We build and redesign WordPress websites and run ongoing SEO, social media, blogging, and digital strategy programs for clients in healthcare, legal, construction, insurance, non-profit, and the broader SMB market.

Being part of a managed IT services company makes us unusual. Our clients get a marketing partner with real technical depth behind it, and our team gets exposure to both sides of the business.

Transforming Businesses One Click at a Time.

The Role

This is a hybrid strategy and relationship role sitting at the intersection of our agency and our parent company.

You will lead a portfolio of agency clients as their strategic marketing partner, and you will also run WheelHouse IT itself as an internal anchor account, managed under a formal Statement of Work with the same rigor we give our highest paying external clients.

You will have one direct report, a Digital Marketing Coordinator, and you will direct the day to day work of our external execution partner. You report to the Director of Marketing and work as a peer to our Lead Web Developer.

If you like owning outcomes rather than executing someone else's plan, this role has room to run.

Where You'll Work

You choose:

  • Hybrid, Fort Lauderdale. Three days in our Fort Lauderdale office, two days wherever you work best. The days out are your choice, not a fixed schedule we assign you.
  • Fully remote, anywhere in the US. No relocation required.
What You'll Do
  • Lead client accounts. Own the strategy, the relationship, and the results for a portfolio of agency clients. Be the person they call.
  • Run WheelHouse IT as an anchor account. Manage our own brand's marketing deliverables under a formal internal SOW, with the same discipline you would apply to a paying client.
  • Run the monthly reporting meeting. Present traffic by source (including traffic from AI and LLM referrals), top pages, time on page, engagement, and form fills. Show up with a recommendation, not just a chart.
  • Manage and mentor. Direct the Digital Marketing Coordinator. Set their priorities, review their work, and help them grow.
  • Direct our execution partner. Brief deliverables, set priorities, and quality check output before it reaches a client.
  • Partner with our Lead Web Developer. Make sure campaigns, landing pages, and funnels are supported by strong technical execution, and that web builds have demand pointed at them.
  • Spot opportunities to help clients further. When a client mentions an IT or cybersecurity problem on a strategy call, you will have the option to introduce them to the WheelHouse IT team. Introductions that turn into business earn you an additional bonus.
  • Own our earned media pipeline. We have a system that surfaces inbound journalist and media inquiries. You will own the process of reviewing them, identifying the ones where WheelHouse IT has something worth saying, and turning them into earned coverage. This is earned media, not paid placement.
  • Report up. Roll campaign and demand generation metrics into a clear monthly view for leadership.
What You Bring

Required

  • 3-5 years in digital marketing, agency account management, or B2B in-house marketing
  • Direct experience owning client or stakeholder relationships and presenting performance results
  • Hands-on HubSpot experience
  • Working knowledge of WordPress and Elementor, enough to scope work, brief a developer, and quality check a page (you do not need to build sites yourself)
  • Fluency in GA4 and Google Search Console, and the ability to turn what you see there into a recommendation someone can act on
  • Practical, daily use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) to increase your output and quality. We expect this, we do not just tolerate it.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, and comfort adapting to a professional B2B voice
  • The organization to run multiple accounts on parallel timelines without dropping deliverables

Preferred

  • Experience managing or mentoring a direct report or contractor
  • Background in MSP, IT services, SaaS, or another technical B2B category
  • SEO tooling experience (Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz)
  • Paid social or paid search campaign management
  • Agency-side experience working within SOWs and managing scope
Compensation

$65,000 - $70,000 OTE in year one, with uncapped growth.

  • Base salary: $55,000 - $60,000, depending on experience
  • Retention commission: paid quarterly on the active clients in your portfolio. Uncapped.
  • Cross-sell bonus: additional earnings when a client you introduce to WheelHouse IT becomes a customer.

This is a residual structure, not an annual discretionary bonus. Retain and grow your book and your earnings grow with it, without waiting for a review cycle. We will walk you through exactly how it works when we talk.

Benefits

Health and financial security

  • Medical, dental, and optical insurance
  • Life insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions

Time and flexibility

  • Paid time off
  • 7 paid holidays
  • Work from home flexibility
  • Company-issued smartphone, so you are never covering business use on a personal plan

Growth and culture

  • Company-provided training to build new skills and advance your career
  • Sunset Seminars, our casual after-hours learning sessions
  • Quarterly team building events
Why This Role

You will sit on our leadership tier with a direct report, a real client portfolio, and a seat at the table with our Director of Marketing and Lead Web Developer. You will see both the agency side and the managed IT side of an established business that is still expanding, which is a combination most marketing roles cannot offer.
