Job Description

Support Staff Manager (VT or Experienced Veterinary Assistant)

Lead. Mentor. Inspire. Make a Difference.

Are you a natural leader who loves developing people just as much as caring for patients?

Galaxy Vets is looking for a Support Staff Manager to lead our incredible team of Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants. This is more than a management positionโ€”it's an opportunity to build a thriving team, create an exceptional workplace culture, and help shape the future of veterinary medicine.

If you're passionate about coaching others, improving workflows, and working alongside your team in a fast-paced hospital, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As our Support Staff Manager, you'll wear two important hats: clinical leader and people leader. This is a hands-on leadership roleโ€”you'll continue working on the hospital floor alongside your team for approximately 30 hours each week, providing patient care, supporting workflows, mentoring staff in real time, and stepping in wherever you're needed. Outside of your clinical shifts, you'll focus on leading, developing, and growing our support staff team.

Then continue with your bullet list:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants
  • Create efficient schedules that keep our hospital running smoothly
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new team members
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance development
  • Build a positive, accountable, and engaged team culture
  • Partner with doctors and leadership to improve workflow and patient care
  • Ensure operational excellence while maintaining exceptional patient and client care

We're Looking For Someone Who

โœ” Loves developing people and helping others succeed

โœ” Leads by example and isn't afraid to jump in when needed

โœ” Thrives in a fast-paced veterinary environment

โœ” Communicates with empathy, professionalism, and confidence

โœ” Enjoys solving problems and improving processes

โœ” Can balance patient care with operational leadership

Qualifications

Required

  • Veterinary Technician (preferred) or an experienced Veterinary Assistant
  • Strong clinical veterinary experience
  • Leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable

Why Galaxy Vets?

At Galaxy Vets, we're on a mission to return veterinary medicine to veterinary professionals while reducing burnout across the industry.

We believe great hospitals start with great teams. That's why we invest in our people through leadership development, continuous learning, collaboration, and a culture where every voice matters.

When you join Galaxy Vets, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impactโ€”not only on patients and clients, but on the careers of the people you lead.

What Success Looks Like

You'll help create a hospital where:

  • Team members feel supported and engaged
  • New hires are set up for long-term success
  • Schedules are efficient and balanced
  • Communication is clear and respectful
  • Patient care remains exceptional
  • People genuinely enjoy coming to work every day

Ready to Lead the Future of Veterinary Medicine?

If you're looking for a career where you can combine your clinical expertise with leadership, mentorship, and operational excellence, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us build something extraordinary.
