Job description

The Weekend Hospice RN will provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients in hospice settings from 8am to 8pm on weekends. This role focuses on symptom management, emotional support, and coordinating care to ensure comfort and dignity at the end of life.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications accurately and safely
  • Manage patient symptoms to enhance comfort
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families
  • Coordinate care among interdisciplinary teams
  • Document patient conditions and treatments thoroughly
  • Maintain clear and compassionate communication with family members
  • Conduct patient assessments to monitor health status
  • Deliver attentive end-of-life care

Required Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry-level experience in hospice nursing
  • Knowledge of hospice and palliative care principles
  • Strong patient assessment and medication administration skills
  • Experience in pain management
  • Excellent communication and empathy
  • Effective time management and critical thinking
  • Proficient in clinical documentation
