Job description

TITLE: Title I- MTSS  Support Aide
LOCATION: Eisenhower Junior High School (6th - 8th Grades)
QUALIFICATIONS:



  1. Required licensure and/or certification as required by the State of Illinois.
  2. Demonstrated interest in and understanding of students.
  3. Demonstrated physical fitness and freedom from communicable disease as required by School Code. (Section 24-5)
  4. Ability to develop positive relationships and work with students and faculty.
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. 


REPORTS TO:      Teacher/Building Administrator
JOB GOALS: 


  1. To assist the teacher in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
  2. To help students advance toward their potential in the areas of needed instructional support.
  3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities may vary depending upon the role in which assistance is being provided at a given time, and/or the type of classroom/service option of the student(s).  Under the supervision of a certified staff member, responsibilities may include monitoring, educational assistance, clerical duties, supportive services, and other activities related to the MTSS process, as appropriate. 
The following is a partial list of responsibilities/duties that may be performed by an assistant under the supervision of registered or certified personnel.


  1. Assists in preparation for classroom lessons/activities.
  2. Instruct a group of students or an individual student in a particular academic or non-academic lesson planned and assigned by the teacher.
  3. Fosters a positive learning environment.
  4. Performs clerical duties as appropriate.
  5. Assists with the administration of benchmark and progress monitoring assessments.
  6. Assists with the successful implementation of the school's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
  7. Assist with the supervision of students as necessary.
  8. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 
Ten-months.
Hourly During Student School day (6.75 Hours per day)
Starting rate of $16.72 per hour.
