Director of Supply Chain Solutions

Role Summary

Our client is searching for a Director of Supply Chain Solutions. The Director of Supply Chain Solutions leads the development and execution of customer supply chain solutions across the companyโ€™s profile. This role is responsible for designing scalable and profitable logistics solutions while supporting the companyโ€™s growth strategy and customer value proposition. The Director partners closely with Sales, Operations, Carrier Procurement, Technology, Finance, and Customer Success teams to design and implement complex transportation and supply chain solutions for new and existing customers. This position also leads the development of the companyโ€™s internal solutions capability, including solution design processes, pricing frameworks, and customer onboarding methodologies. The Director ensures that newly developed customer solutions are successfully implemented and transitioned to Account Management teams for long-term operational management.

Key Results Areas
  • Lead Customer Solution Development and Strategy
    • Design and develop complex transportation and supply chain solutions for new and existing customers
    • Evaluate customer supply chain networks and recommend improvements to optimize cost, service, and operational efficiency
    • Develop scalable logistics architectures including multimodal transportation strategies, warehousing solutions, and distribution models
    • Support enterprise-level sales opportunities by providing solution design expertise and operational feasibility analysis
    • Develop pricing models and financial analyses to ensure profitable customer solutions
    • Participate in executive-level customer presentations and solution discussions
  • Sales Enablement and Customer Solution Consulting
    • Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to support complex customer opportunities
    • Provide consultative supply chain expertise to customers during the solution development process
    • Assist in developing proposals, pricing strategies, and service models that align with customer needs and the companyโ€™s capabilities
    • Provide analytical insights during customer business reviews and supply chain redesign discussions
  • Implementation Leadership and Customer Onboarding
    • Oversee onboarding and implementation of major customer programs
    • Develop standardized onboarding frameworks and implementation processes
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams across operations, technology, carrier procurement, and finance to ensure successful implementations
    • Establish operational processes, KPIs, and reporting structures for new customers
    • Ensure seamless transition of newly onboarded customers to appropriate team members for day-to-day management
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation
    • Identify opportunities to improve the companyโ€™s technology, systems, and operational capabilities
    • Collaborate with technology teams on creating enhancements to the Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
    • Develop advanced analytics and reporting capabilities to support solution development
    • Stay informed on logistics market trends, technological development, and supply chain innovations
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, engineering, or a related field is required; MBA is preferred
  • 8 years of experience in logistics, supply chain consulting, or third-party logistics
  • 3 years of experience in designing complex supply chain solutions
  • 4 years of leadership or team management exposure
  • Proven experience supporting complex enterprise sales opportunities
  • Strong knowledge of transportation markets, including truckload, LTL, intermodal, and international freight
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and implementations
  • Prior experience in a senior solutions engineering or consulting role within a 3PL is preferred
  • Significant financial modeling and pricing strategy experience
  • Occasional travel to various customer sites is expected
