Job description

Detailed Description

  • Lead procurement, planning, inventory management, logistics, and supplier management activities supporting manufacturing operations and customer demand. 
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve supply continuity, reduce total landed cost, and mitigate supply chain risk. 
  • Establish department goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and reporting to measure supply chain performance and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and Finance to align material availability with production schedules and customer requirements.  
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels through demand planning, inventory analysis, and replenishment strategies while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. 
  • Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness, and capacity while developing strategic supplier relationships. 
  • Lead supplier negotiations including pricing, commercial agreements, lead times, and long-term supply commitments. 
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new suppliers in partnership with Engineering and Quality to strengthen supply chain flexibility and business continuity. 
  • Analyze commodity markets, supplier trends, and cost drivers to identify opportunities for cost reduction and long-term sourcing strategies. 
  • Develop and implement supply chain policies, procedures, and best practices that improve operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and material flow. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable ISO, API, import/export, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), forecasting, budgeting, and capacity planning activities. 
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics to improve planning accuracy, inventory visibility, and operational decision-making. 
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on productivity improvements, working capital reduction, and supply chain optimization. 
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize operational disruption caused by supplier, transportation, geopolitical, or market risks. 
  • Hire, coach, mentor, and develop supply chain personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Oversee staffing, performance management, succession planning, and employee development within the Supply Chain organization.

Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing supply chain principles, planning, procurement, and inventory management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop sourcing strategies and negotiate supplier agreements. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Financial acumen with the ability to evaluate inventory investment, supplier costs, and operational performance. 
  • Proven leadership experience developing and managing high-performing teams. 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments and organizational levels. 
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement mindset. 
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems to support supply chain operations. 
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. 
  • Power BI experience preferred. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered. 
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing supply chain or operations teams. 
  • Experience in procurement, production planning, inventory management, supplier development, logistics, and manufacturing support. 
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA ERP system. 
  • Experience supporting ISO and API quality management systems. 
  • International sourcing and import/export experience. 
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification. 
  • Lean Manufacturing certification. 
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
