Pharmacist-in-Charge - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Location: Miami, FL
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Typically 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
Setting: Retail Pharmacy

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Bilingual Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to lead the day-to-day operations of a retail pharmacy in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of retail pharmacy management experience, strong leadership abilities, and be fluent in both English and Spanish.

The Pharmacist-in-Charge will oversee prescription processing and dispensing, medication inventory, regulatory compliance, pharmacy operations, and the performance and scheduling of pharmacy technicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and accurately process prescriptions while ensuring appropriateness, legality, and compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Prepare and dispense medications using appropriate dosages and procedures.

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure an efficient, organized workflow.

  • Manage medication inventory, including stocking, labeling, monitoring expiration dates, and maintaining proper storage conditions.

  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and medication dispensing records.

  • Provide patients with medication information, guidance, and counseling as appropriate.

  • Lead, supervise, and direct the daily activities of pharmacy technicians.

  • Develop and manage pharmacy technician schedules and coordinate leave requests and accommodations.

  • Provide input regarding employee performance and address behavioral or performance concerns with management.

  • Ensure the pharmacy and staff comply with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and pharmacy procedures.

  • Utilize the pharmacy's patient management and information systems effectively.

  • Monitor pharmacy operations to promote patient safety and quality service.

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support pharmacy operations.

Qualifications
  • PharmD degree required.

  • Active Florida Pharmacist License required.

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish - required.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of retail pharmacy management experience.

  • Previous Pharmacist-in-Charge or pharmacy leadership experience preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and management skills.

  • Experience supervising and managing pharmacy technicians.

  • Proficiency with pharmacy/patient management systems.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
