What is a Superbill?

A Superbill is an itemized document provided by healthcare providers to patients, detailing the services rendered during a visit. It includes essential information such as provider details, patient information, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and the charges for each service. Patients use Superbills to submit claims to their insurance companies for reimbursement when the provider is out-of-network. Superbills are not invoices or receipts, but serve as a summary of the visit for insurance purposes. They help ensure patients receive any out-of-network benefits they may be eligible for.
