Position Overview
The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for using reports, tools and other resources provided by Aveanna, for the accurate posting of cash receipts to the company's accounts receivable records. This includes payment for all primary, secondary, tertiary or any other payer including guarantors. This is inclusive of payments received from commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and private accounts.
Essential Job Functions
• Responsible for overseeing day to day duties of cash application specialists.
• From the SunTrust Bank portal, the EFT file and lockbox is downloaded and 835 files are processed from the EFT and lockbox spreadsheet.
• Works with Centralized Billers, Collectors, and Cash Applications Specialists to ensure payments are applied accurately.
• Assist with month end close.
• Processed and Applied Cash Transfer.
• Train, provide guidance, monitor and answer questions for new and existing cash apps employees.
• Responsible for properly logging completed cash batches by cash apps specialists.
• Responsible for understanding and appropriately applying recoupments from payers.
• Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
• Understands and cash applications and enforces business rules and SOX 404 controls.
• Apply Cash and Denials as needed.
• Evaluates data, reports, feedback, observations and other information in determining priorities.
• Uses prior knowledge and industry specific, historical experiences in resolving problems.
• Conducts all assignments as a professional and role model with a sense of urgency.
• Uses professional communication and conflict resolution techniques as required.
• References and reflects upon the Company mission, values, and strategic imperatives in completing and/or assigning all work.
Requirements
• Ability to maintain records and perform data entry.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• One year related experience in a healthcare environment.
• Experience with computers, calculators, 10-key, and other basic office equipment.
