To be successful, you should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience; Big 4 public accounting experience preferred; CPA license or actively pursuing required/preferred.
  • Solid expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and multi-entity consolidations within insurance or financial services environments.
  • Solid technical and analytical skills, including advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP), Power BI, and experience with accounting systems such as FIS/Sungard EAS or similar ERP platforms.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, support audits, and communicate financial insights effectively to leadership.

Your responsibilities as the Accounting Manager will include:
  • Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, flux analysis, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, P&L analysis, and management reporting to deliver actionable business insights.
  • Manage external audit processes, internal controls, and compliance initiatives, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering team development, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with IT and Finance to enhance reporting automation, streamline processes, and document SOPs.
