Alexandria, MN - 4th Shift, Friday-Sunday, 6:30am-6:30pm
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.
  • Exhibit active leadership in order to model and support the company's vision, culture and strategies
  • Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
  • Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
  • Strenuous or repetitive jobs must rotate at a minimum of every 4 hours to prevent the risk of injury
    • Strenuous activity is one in which it is necessary for you to use a lot of effort, energy or strength
    • REPETITIVE: a motion that occurs every few seconds with little or no variation
    • OSHA emphasizes that job rotation should be used as a preventative measure to prevent physical fatigue and injury
  • Accurately and efficiently fulfill customer orders:
    • Review manufacturing orders in order to verify internal and external customer specifications
    • Package orders based on customer specifications
    • Follow current work center schedule to ensure customer service and satisfaction
  • Monitor and recommend appropriate process improvements to safety, rates, yield and inspection techniques
  • Perform general machine maintenance as necessary to keep equipment in a well maintained condition
  • Provide suggestions and continuous improvements ideas to help better processes and procedures
  • Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
  • Continually support and improve the department's key measures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to recognize safety concerns
    • Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment
    • A highly motivated self-starter
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Basic math skills
    • Ability to detect minor defects in the finish of the product
    • Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts according to customer specifications

The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00-25.48/hour plus a differential and the 36 for 40 calculation. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors include job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs and geographic location.
