Job description

Job Title: Food Runner Busser
Job Department: Summit
Job Pay Range: $18.00 - $25.00 / Hour (Inclusive of hourly pay rate + service charge)
  • Breakdown: Based on $5.42 per hour base wage + service charge commission paid per shift; historically, this position averages service charge commission earnings of $13.00 - $19.00 per hour. Service charges fluctuate based on the time of year.
  • This position always earns at least the current Colorado minimum wage $15.16 per hour.

Job Summary:
As a Food Runner/Busser, you will be provide meticulously synchronized, high-standard table service. This role focuses heavily on formal etiquette, precise menu knowledge, and anticipatory guest care to match a premium establishment's atmosphere; also acts as a bridge between the culinary and service teams; and deliver dishes with exact positioning and maintain an immaculate dining environment without disrupting the guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include following. Other duties may be assigned:
  • Deliver courses simultaneously with the service team. Place plates exactly as instructed by the lead, ensuring protein placement faces the guest.
  • Memorize the complete menu, daily specials, and complex ingredient profiles. Identify and accurately announce dishes upon presentation.
  • Adhere strictly to ticket notes regarding guest allergies. Ensure correct placement and absolute safety during delivery.
  • Clear plates, glassware, and flatware silently between courses using proper fine dining clearance etiquette and after guest leave.
  • Wipe down, sanitize, and dry tables, chairs, and booster seats.
  • Set tables promptly with exact symmetry. Mark table with clean linens, silverware, glassware, and condiments for incoming guests or course.
  • Keep service side-stations clean, organized, and re-stocked with everything necessary for the service.
  • Greet guests warmly, answer menu questions, and fulfill immediate requests like water refill or assistance the guest needs, in a professional way.
  • Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
  • Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor's history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
  • Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.

What we are looking for:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
  • Strong memory or focus for seat numbers, food allergens, and cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to carry heavy polished trays smoothly through crowed dining rooms.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long shifts, bend, reach, and lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • A highly motivated team player who connects easily with colleagues and drives results through positive energy and seamless collaboration.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by the calendar of events.
