Job description

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization providing programs and services to adults and children with disabilities and other special needs. We are celebrating over 100 years of serving others and are proud of our history!
JOB SUMMARY
The Lead Summer Camp Teacher is responsible for implementing the Summer Camp program, which is scheduled to be in session June 15 - August 7. This is a full-time position working M-F 8:30am-4:30pm, at an hourly rate of $14.00.
QUALIFICATIONS:LEAD SUMMER CAMP TEACHER
  • Associates or bachelors preferred or High School diploma with 3 years experience.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Prior experience working in recreation programs preferred.
  • Current valid PA drivers license and acceptable driving record
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Check required.
  • Acceptable Child Abuse History Clearance required.
  • Acceptable Department of Human Services FBI Clearance required.
  • Acceptable results from National Sex Offenders Registry (NSOR) required.
  • Passing of physical examination and TB required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: LEAD SUMMER CAMP TEACHER
  1. Create, implement, and direct age-appropriate lessons and activities including coordinating field tripsand activities in the community.
  2. Identify and implement individual goals, objectives and strategies that are consistent with the overall program and individual needs.
  3. Work with other part-time staff and volunteers, as needed, to assist in the operation of programs.
  4. Implement safety standards for children, staff and volunteers.

HOURS/BENEFITS
We have two full-time positions, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30pm. There is no weekend, evening or holiday work. The hourly rate is $14.00.
