Key responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of executive-level housekeeping and detailed home care to maintain the residence in impeccable, guest-ready condition at all times

  • Manage household laundry with precision, including washing, drying, folding, care of linens and specialty items, and regular changing of sheets, towels, and household linens

Job description

Private family seeks a polished, highly proactive, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their year-round household team at their Southampton residence. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for an experienced private service professional who takes exceptional pride in detailed home care, works with a strong sense of ownership, and is naturally inclined to identify and address household needs without waiting for direction. The household maintains exacting standards and values professionalism, discretion, reliability, accountability, and a collaborative team environment.

This is a full-time, year-round position consisting of a five-day workweek. During the summer season, when the principals are heavily in residence, the schedule will include regular weekend coverage. The off-season will remain five days per week with greater scheduling flexibility; however, the family is periodically in residence throughout the winter, and candidates must be comfortable adjusting their schedule for occasional weekend coverage as needed during the off-season.

The successful candidate is a confident, self-directed professional who can naturally become a go-to member of the housekeeping team through initiative, consistency, judgment, and work ethic. They will work alongside one additional year-round Housekeeper as part of a broader household team. The ideal candidate has extensive private household / UHNW experience, preferably at an Executive Housekeeper level, and requires very little oversight. They remain productive during downtime, anticipate the principals' and household's needs, help keep workflow moving when management steps away, and approach every day with a true service mentality and a no-task-too-big-or-too-small attitude.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform all aspects of executive-level housekeeping and detailed home care to maintain the residence in impeccable, guest-ready condition at all times
  • Execute general housekeeping and deep cleaning throughout the residence with exceptional attention to detail
  • Manage household laundry with precision, including washing, drying, folding, care of linens and specialty items, and regular changing of sheets, towels, and household linens
  • Maintain bedrooms, bathrooms, living spaces, guest areas, closets, pantries, and storage areas to exacting household standards
  • Anticipate household and principals' needs before being asked and proactively identify work that requires attention
  • Remain productive and self-directed throughout the workday, including during quieter periods, without requiring ongoing instruction
  • Work collaboratively alongside the other year-round Housekeeper and broader household team to ensure seamless daily operations
  • Help maintain workflow, standards, and household readiness when management is away or focused elsewhere
  • Naturally serve as a dependable go-to member of the housekeeping team through initiative and performance, without formal supervisory responsibility
  • Assist with post-meal cleanup, dishwashing, kitchen reset, household organization, and general property support as needed
  • Manage and procure household supplies and groceries to ensure appropriate stock levels
  • Run household errands as needed, including dry cleaning and grocery shopping
  • Adapt to changing household schedules, guest presence, entertaining, and seasonal needs with flexibility and a positive attitude
  • Additional housekeeping and household duties as needed and requested

Requirements:

  • Strong command of the English language with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent references from both current and previous employers required
  • Extensive professional housekeeping experience within private homes and UHNW households required
  • Executive Housekeeper background strongly preferred
  • Highly proactive and self-directed with the ability to identify what needs to be done and execute without waiting for instruction
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, conscientiousness, and follow-through
  • Exceptional work ethic with a demonstrated ability to maintain consistently high standards
  • Professional, polished, discreet, dependable, and committed to maintaining a drama-free work environment
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to naturally become a trusted go-to person through performance rather than title
  • Comfortable working independently and requiring minimal oversight
  • Flexible with schedule changes, including regular summer weekend work and occasional winter weekend coverage when the family is in residence
  • Able to remain productive during downtime and reliably support the household during busy periods
  • Minimal personal phone use while working and a focused, service-oriented approach throughout the day
  • Long-term mindset and genuine understanding of the service standards and discretion required in a private household
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Legally able to work in the United States

Compensation: $45 - $50 per hour, commensurate with experience

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and two weeks paid vacation
