Job description

Investment Analyst
As an Investment Analyst at Readystate Asset Management, you are a critical member of our investment team who will generate hypotheses, perform key analyses and help form investment ideas. As a multi-strategy firm that incorporates fundamental and systematic approaches and emphasizes interdisciplinary analysis, we encourage individuals across a wide breadth of backgrounds to apply. Analysts with a fundamental focus will lead the analysis of companies and industry sectors, analyze and monitor emerging macro-economic and regulatory trends and communicate the impact of these factors on the firm's investments. Analysts with a quantitative focus will develop systematic trading techniques and/or conduct quantitative research, with an emphasis on alpha signal development, predictive pricing and strategy implementation. All analysts will develop views on company valuation vs. market expectations and relative value across the capital structure and will collaborate with the entire investment team in identifying opportunities to take and manage risk based on your analyses.
In Readystate's "one team" ethos, you will contribute to a variety of investment styles across convertible bonds, corporate bonds, equities, options and other derivative markets. At Readystate, we foster an environment where all team members can learn from one another and contribute across all aspects of our business, including portfolio management, trading, risk management, operations, technology, and marketing.
Readystate's Investment Analyst internship offers an immersive introduction to our multi-strategy approach to investing. As an intern, you will rotate through several of our investment strategies, working directly alongside experienced investment professionals generating hypotheses, conducting fundamental and quantitative analysis, and contributing to real investment ideas.
What you can Expect:
  • Direct mentorship from members of our investment team
  • Structured learning sessions and capital markets education throughout the summer
  • Exposure to Readystate's integrated approach, combining fundamental research with quantitative methods
  • A collaborative, transparent culture where every team member's ideas are valued
  • The opportunity to be considered for full-time positions upon graduation

Job Responsibilities:
  • Fundamental due diligence on existing and potential investments, including financial modeling and quantitative assessments of investments
  • Quantitative research/data analysis using market and non-traditional data
  • Idea generation and screening for investment opportunities using fundamental or quantitative techniques
  • Execution of ad hoc projects in collaboration with other team members

Qualifications:
  • A passion for investing and curiosity about financial markets
  • Aptitude to perform fundamental analysis and identify key drivers of value
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to organize and condense unstructured information into a coherent investment thesis
  • Strong analytical skills, the ability to think differently and take initiative
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Python, R, and/or other data analytic tools (higher technical requirements for quantitatively focused analysts)
  • Finance and accounting background are helpful but not required.

Investment Analyst internships are primarily located in our Chicago office, with select opportunities in our New York office.
