Summer Think Tank Internships are temporary positions, typically offered during the summer months, where students or recent graduates work with policy research organizations known as think tanks. Interns assist with research, data analysis, event planning, and administrative tasks, often gaining hands-on experience in public policy, economics, international affairs, or related fields. These internships provide valuable networking opportunities, exposure to policy-making processes, and the chance to develop relevant skills for future careers in academia, government, or the nonprofit sector.

What types of projects and collaboration can I expect as a summer think tank intern?

As a Summer Think Tank Intern, you will typically work on research-driven projects that address current policy, social, or economic issues. Interns frequently collaborate with senior researchers, policy analysts, and other interns, contributing to literature reviews, data analysis, and drafting reports or memos. The environment is intellectually stimulating and team-oriented, with regular meetings to discuss findings and brainstorm solutions. You'll also have opportunities to attend seminars, present your work, and receive feedback, which fosters professional growth and exposure to potential career paths in research and policy.
