Interested in inspiring and guiding incoming freshmen while helping them build a strong start to high school this summer?
Cristo Rey Jesuit High School invites mission-driven educators to join our Summer Bridge Program, a four-week academic program designed to help incoming freshmen successfully transition into high school. As a Summer Program Teacher, you will introduce students to Cristo Rey's academic expectations and school culture while helping them strengthen key academic and organizational skills. Your leadership and encouragement will help students build confidence and develop a strong foundation for success.

Join Cristo Rey Jesuit High School as a Summer Bridge Teacher and support incoming freshmen at a pivotal moment in their educational journey. This on-site opportunity allows you to support incoming freshmen at a pivotal moment in their educational journey as they transition into high school and begin developing the habits of mind, character, and scholarship necessary for success at Cristo Rey and beyond.
As part of Cristo Rey Jesuit's collaborative and mission-driven faculty, you will help introduce students to our academic expectations, school culture, and Grad at Grad values through engaging, data-informed instruction and relationship-centered teaching. Your interpersonal intelligence, optimism, and commitment to excellence will help form students distinguished by confidence, curiosity, resilience, and openness to growth.
Your contributions will resonate far beyond the classroom as you help students build foundational academic skills, strengthen executive functioning, and cultivate a sense of belonging within a nurturing, faith-based community.
Program Summary
Summer Bridge is a four-week academic and formation program designed to prepare incoming freshmen for a successful transition into Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
Program Dates: June 22 - July 17 (No class July 3)
Daily Schedule: 7:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Teaching Schedule:
  • Teach three 55-minute classes daily
  • Receive one 55-minute planning period
  • Attend required pre-program meetings
Compensation: $4,000 for full participation in all program days and required meetings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruction
  • Design and execute rigorous, engaging lessons that accelerate student learning and build strong academic foundations
  • Monitor student learning and adjust instruction to support student success
  • Incorporate technology strategically to enhance learning
  • Integrate character formation and Grad at Grad values into lesson design and classroom culture
Student Support and Formation
  • Build meaningful relationships with students and practice cura personalis (care for the whole person)
  • Establish classroom routines and norms consistent with Cristo Rey's philosophy of respect, support, and high expectations
  • Foster a classroom environment characterized by warmth, order, and a feeling of welcome
Collaboration and Professional Growth
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress
  • Seek feedback and reflect on instructional practice to support professional growth
  • Contribute to a positive, mission-driven faculty culture grounded in humility, joy, and shared purpose
Qualifications
Successful candidates will embody the mission commitment, intellectual curiosity, optimism, and openness to growth that define Cristo Rey educators.
  • Required:Bachelor's degree in education or a related subject area
  • Preferred: Experience teaching middle or high school students
