Summary
To assist the ITS Network staff in all areas of their job duties. The ITS Network staff administers and maintains the campus data and voice networks, including the equipment, the cable plant, and interfaces with off campus connections.

Essential Functions
  • Assist ITS Networking staff with troubleshooting and repair of network connections.
  • Assist with the installation of new network electronics.
  • Assist with the installation, moving, and troubleshooting of campus office telephones.
  • Assist with troubleshooting wireless networking issues.
  • Maintain network equipment room UPS systems.
  • Assist with networking equipment inventory management.
  • Maintain and repair Residence Hall phones/lines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of computer network settings.
  • Be able to work on a ladder and be able to lift fifty pounds.
  • Be able to communicate well with people in person and via phone.
  • Must be able to drive University vehicles and pass a screening with the ITS Security Office.
  • Must work well as a member of a team.
  • Must have at least 2 years remaining at BGSU at time of hire and to work at least 2 days a week during the summer.
