Position Description
Position Description:
The Student Writer will develop engaging stories that highlight members of the university community and their accomplishments. The student will conduct interviews, research background information, and write two articles (300-500 words each) for publication in the annual IT Outcomes report. This publication showcases key projects, initiatives, and accomplishments of Bridgewater State University's Information Technology Division.
This short-term assignment is ideal for a student who enjoys writing, interviewing professionals, and translating technical or project-related information into compelling stories for a broad audience. The Student Writer will work independently while receiving guidance and editorial feedback from the project supervisor.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Conducting two interviews with members of the BSU community.
  • Researching background information related to featured projects or initiatives.
  • Writing two articles of approximately 300-500 words each.
  • Revising articles based on feedback and ensuring accuracy of information and quotations.
  • Providing brief weekly progress updates and maintaining records of work completed.

Additional Details
  • This is a temporary project-based role with flexible hours.
  • All interviews and story submissions must be reviewed by key stakeholders, revised as appropriate, and submitted by deadline.

Eligibility requirements:
Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
