Job description


A growing ophthalmology program in Greenville, North Carolina, is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologist with fellowship training in the surgical management of vitreoretinal diseases. Candidates with an interest in resident education and ophthalmology residency program development are encouraged to apply.
The position is based at a tertiary referral center that treats a high volume of patients with complex ophthalmic conditions. The expanding multispecialty ophthalmology practice is actively recruiting physicians across several subspecialties and benefits from a strong hospital-based referral system, as well as referrals from regional optometrists and ophthalmologists in an area with limited subspecialty coverage.
The program has received ACGME approval to launch a new ophthalmology residency, with its inaugural class beginning in summer 2026.
