Job Title: Summer Student Worker Position in Curriculum and Instruction

Job Classification: Business Operations, Student

Department: Curriculum and Instruction

Work Schedule: 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Flexible work schedule.

Desired Length of Employment: 2026 Summer Semester

Pay Rate: $9.00/hr

  • In a student employee capacity, may perform or assist with specialized business or operational functions that contribute to departmental goals and initiatives.

Job Description:

Summer Student Worker - Curriculum & Instruction Department - Reception & Office Support*
*Only Federal Work-Study approved student workers will be considered for this position.*
Student workers will serve as receptionists for the department office suite located in the second-floor foyer area of the Marrs McLean Science Building (Room 241.02). Responsibilities include providing administrative and operational support to faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants.
1. Greet visitors, notify faculty when guests arrive, and direct or escort visitors to faculty offices.
2. Make copies and create announcements for the department TV screen using Canva.
3. Run occasional campus errands for faculty and staff as needed.
4. If needed, deliver mail to the Bill Daniel Student Center and transport copying/testing materials to and from the Central Duplicating Office in Morrison Hall. A dolly may be required for larger mail deliveries.
5. Assist faculty, staff, and Graduate TORs, as needed.
6. Perform office preparation tasks such as scanning, laminating, and if needed, assist faculty in preparing classroom materials (e.g., cutting out manipulatives) for classes or summer camps.
7. Provide event support for departmental summer programs, including Math Teacher Academy and MELA Camp, when needed.
