Maddox is the nation's leading provider of electrical transformers to the commercial and industrial market, with primary locations in South Carolina, Washington State, Texas, Idaho, and Ohio. We have been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in America for the past 8 years and counting.

Maddox was founded on Christian values, and we are serious about investing in the people, processes, and culture that make this a great place to work. We build real things, solve real problems, and expect professionalism, competence, and integrity from our team.

About Maddox + You:

As a Product Finisher, you would be working in a shop environment where your responsibilities will include:

  • Using various hand tools to install manway lids and cabinet lids when required
  • Removing all plastic and tape after a unit is painted
  • Applying all required stickers and labels
  • Install bushing supports when required
  • Paint touch-up when required

This is not an assembly-line factory job. It's a fast-paced, hard-working, but very rewarding environment where you will be part of a team of qualified technicians who rebuild industrial transformers. Maddox is a great American company which values honesty, integrity, and recognizes the men and women who serve our customers, build up the team, and value the company and culture we've built.

This can be an entry-level opportunity to get on board with a great company and is an ideal role for someone looking to build a career in a positive environment, with an employer who values and recognizes your strong character, stable lifestyle, and dedicated work ethic.

More about You:

  • You love working with your hands to fix things and solve problems.
  • You're comfortable with online documentation and web-based software systems (with computer & smartphone).
  • You're a good communicator; in-person, over the phone, and via email.
  • You're a good learner; not a know-it-all.

Basics:

  • This position works 40 hours per week on a 4-day a week schedule. All day-time schedule (not night shift). Schedule changes slightly during Summer/Winter, but is generally 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Some paid overtime is available during peak times.
  • Employees are required to meet basic physical requirements for a heavy-equipment environment. Occasional exposure to confined spaces. Must know how to use basic hand tools, follow written instructions, etc.
  • Paid time-off, paternity/maternity leave, 401k matching, health/wellness benefits, etc. Smoke-free, drug-free workplace.

Comprehensive Full-Time Benefits, including:

  • 3 Weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) (and an additional week for managers, and an additional week after 5 years).
  • Health & Wellness: Can be taken as traditional insurance, or as cash in lieu of benefits. Benefit amounts vary based on age, family status, and eligibility, but as an example, in most circumstances, an employee with a spouse and 3 kids, would be eligible for $19,200 / year or more.
  • Paid paternity/maternity leave
  • 401k with 100% match up to 8% of wages.
  • Paid holidays, marriage and family gifts to celebrate significant life events, and other reimbursements and voluntary benefits and coverages (such as Vision, Dental, Short Term Disability, Additional Life Insurance, Accident, etc), as eligible.

Experience & Education:

We value skills and experience (welding, fabrication, general shop/mechanical skills, auto body prep/paint), but we're also willing to invest in training early-career candidates with the right attitude and ambition.

Pay: $19.56 - $25.52 plus a comprehensive full-time benefits package that averages more than an additional $20k/year per employee (individual amounts vary on age, family size, and other factors).

Pro Tip: We got a LOT of applicants, so please write a few sentences telling us what stood out to you, and why you think you'd thrive in this particular opportunity.
