Description
SUMMARY: The Sanitation Technician ensures compliance with company, customer, regulatory, and consumer sanitary requirements. The Sanitation Technician provides guidance to the site in managing all sanitary processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to execute and support all quality programs that ensure the production of safe, quality foods.
• Oversee, implement, review, and develop policies, procedures, systems, and processes related to sanitary programs, ensuring they are consistent with company policies and practices.
• Conduct regular ATP monitoring tasks and participate in sanitation and allergen validation activities.
• Review and analyze ATP data to identify trends and take corrective or preventative action.
• Develop, audit, improve, verify, and validate MSS, SSOPs, and other prerequisite programs, including pest control and chemical management.
• Work closely with Maintenance and Production to identify work orders and PMs that ensure the quality and sanitation of the facility.
• Complete cleaning tasks as needed, especially specialized cleaning assignments.
• Train new hires in best practices related to safe sanitation.
• Know company policies and abide by them promptly and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable statutes and regulations governing employees.
• Ensure the safety of all employees through proper LOTO and PPE training as it relates to all sanitation practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 3 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.
3 years of Sanitation experience.
Skills: Sound management skills with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
Self-motivated and willing to learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
BACK-UP COVERAGE: Back-up for this position is provided by the Sanitation Manager.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Faribault Sanitation Manager and maintains a close relationship with the production team.
Works closely with the manufacturing team, as well as safety, maintenance, engineering, and human resources teams as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, use hands and fingers, and climb stairs. This job requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English. The employee must be able to hear and have color vision.

LISTENING: Must possess adequate listening and interpreting skills to meet most academic and work-related expectations for competent communication. Able to follow extensive, multi-step complex instructions on how to operate a machine and complete related evaluation tasks in standard formats such as circling, matching, filling in blanks, or completing a chart.
DOCUMENT USE: Able to locate, integrate, and compare or contrast two to three specific pieces of information in visually complex texts (e.g., tables, calendars, schedules, phone directories, cookbooks) or across paragraphs or sections of text. Able to examine a complex diagram or overview of a manufacturing operation and compare the accuracy of graphic information with the detailed descriptive text.
READING: Able to read policy and procedure manuals, equipment installation and use manuals, user product guides, health and safety advisories, legal and administrative procedures, and scientific and experimental procedures. Able to interpret selections from texts about workplace safety precautions by locating and integrating three to four pieces of information from the text.
