About This Role

Our preschool is seeking an assistant to join its team to assist with its mixed-age summer camp program starting on June 8. As a valued member of our ministry team, you will be instrumental in sharing the love of Christ with children, families, and staff while assisting in curriculum development and educational programming.


What You'll Do
  • Maintain a nurturing environment that fosters the intellectual, spiritual, physical, emotional, and social growth of each child, embodying a Christian atmosphere.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with children and their families, recognizing the dynamic impact of family on the learning environment. Collaborate with lead teachers and parents to provide a cohesive educational experience.
  • Support lead teachers in designing and implementing Christian-based, age-appropriate curricula that address developmental needs and prepare children for school.
  • Partner with lead teachers to present daily Bible stories and monthly memory verses, instilling biblical values in young minds.
  • Assist in keeping classroom materials current, ensuring a diverse array of learning opportunities aligned with weekly themes.
  • Act as a dedicated team member, ready to step in as lead teacher in their absence and maximize the effectiveness of collaborative teaching.
  • Uphold Hillsboro Christian Preschool policies and adhere to VDOE guidelines for Religious Exempt Child Day Centers.
  • Commit to ongoing learning and professional growth, ensuring the highest standards of education and care.

Requirements
  • Must be found “No Match” prior to employment by a search of the sex offender registry to determine if potential employee is registered as a convicted sex offender.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Shall be physically, medically, mentally, and occupationally capable of fulfilling the responsibilities listed.
  • Must be found “Eligible for Employment” prior to employment by fingerprint and analysis results obtained from the Virginia State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation pursuant to 63.2-1720.1 of the Code of Virginia.
  • Be a continuing student of the Bible and be able to assist in the creation of scripturally sound lessons for the students.
  • Has a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
  • Is an active member of a local Christian church.
  • Has read and adheres to the beliefs of Hillsboro Baptist Church, as outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message
