Job description

Responsibilities

What you can expect:

  • Meaningful, fast-paced work with the region's largest heavy civil construction and materials company

  • Buddy assignment

  • Classroom training to develop professional skills
  • Each assignment is typically 3-6 months

Typical Duties

  • Students will support the Risk Management and Claims team in the administration, tracking, and processing of insurance claims and risk-related activities.
  • Processing reported General Liability and Auto incidents through the claims management system
  • Assisting with the management of minor General Liability and Auto claims inventory
  • Entering and documenting new claims received through various reporting channels
  • Processing self-reported claims and coordinating submission to insurance carriers
  • Supporting claim cost allocations and project chargebacks through the claims system
  • Scanning, organizing, and maintaining claims department records and documentation
  • Running reports and assisting with presentations and data analysis
  • Supporting subrogation and recovery efforts as assigned
  • Providing claim status updates and communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Assisting with additional risk management projects and departmental initiatives as needed
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: Risk Management, Safety Management, Occupational safety or another safety related degree
  • Must be a team player and possess a collaborative attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
