Location: 3100 Shore Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23451
Reports to: Sous Chef
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Schedule: We currently have both daytime and evening shifts available! (weekdays and some weekends)

This position is responsible for the general kitchen sanitation and washing of pots and dishes in accordance with current applicable federal, state, local standards, guidelines and regulations. Wash dishes, utensils, and pots. Operate dish washing equipment. Distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils.Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures. Always model our core values of respect, passion, and professionalism, and hold others accountable for doing the same.
What You'll Do In This Role
  • Empty trash containers as required.
  • Sweep and mop all floors in the kitchen, wait staff area and any other places as directed by the supervisor.
  • Clean and break down the dish machine.
  • Clean and organize pot sinks.
  • Maintain assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code.
  • Follow safety regulations; report injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
  • Complete in-service training and education compliance as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Capable of prolonged standing and walking continuously for the entire shift.
  • Pushing dish racks, frequent stooping and bending, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to see and hear, or to use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that sanitation standards are maintained according to federal, state and local requirements.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher, dish machine and other cleaning equipment.

The Experience You'll Bring
Required
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English
  • Maintains uniforms in a clean and neat condition.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule that includes holidays and some weekends
  • Willingness to receive annual flu vaccine during flu season (Oct - May)

Preferred
  • Prior kitchen sanitation experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • General knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures and practices.
