ASUG’s mission is to help people and organizations get the most value from their investments in SAP technology. The Chicago-based organization accomplishes this by connecting and educating people through in-person and virtual events, delivering customer feedback to SAP, and advocating for its members.

Position Summary:

ASUG is seeking a Podcast Producer to manage the development, production, publishing, and promotion of ASUG’s podcast offerings. As part of the Digital Content team and reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Content, this role ensures a high-quality experience for guests, listeners, partners, and ASUG members while supporting the growth and visibility of ASUG’s audio content.The Podcast Producer collaborates with editorial, marketing, research, and partner-facing teams to coordinate recordings, prepare guests, support audio production, publish episodes, and promote content across digital channels. This individual will help strengthen production workflows, support audience growth initiatives, and build a solid knowledge and understanding of the IT field and SAP ecosystem.The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented communicator with a passion for storytelling, multimedia content creation, and emerging technology trends, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced digital content environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Podcast Production & Quality Assurance
  • Edit each podcast episode for both audio and content quality, ensuring episodes are polished, accurate, engaging, and aligned with ASUG editorial standards.
  • Lead quality assurance requirements for every episode, including audio review, content review, final approvals, and readiness for publication.
  • Use audio engineering and editing software, such as Adobe Audition or similar solutions, to support recording, editing, mixing, and post-production workflows.
  • Collaborate with the ASUG IT team to ensure podcast equipment, platforms, and resources are ready for episode recordings in the office, virtually, and on location as needed.
  • Manage podcast guest scheduling, recording logistics, technical checks, and pre-production coordination to provide a smooth experience for hosts, guests, and internal stakeholders.
Publishing, Promotion & Partner Support
  • Oversee the episode publication process, including writing episode headlines, descriptions, show notes, email copy, and supporting promotional language.
  • Write editorial recaps of select podcast episodes for publication on ASUG.com, translating key conversations into concise, engaging digital content.
  • Liaise with the ASUG marketing team to develop and distribute marketing collateral, including social media posts, email copy, landing page copy, and other promotional assets.
  • Support social media promotion for podcast episodes by drafting clear, audience-focused copy that increases awareness and engagement.
  • Work with ASUG podcast partners to ensure sponsorship entitlements are fulfilled accurately, professionally, and on schedule.
Editorial Strategy & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate internally to ensure ASUG podcasts address strategic topics and align with ASUG content published across digital, event, research, and marketing channels.
  • Partner with editorial, marketing, research, membership, events, and sponsor-facing teams to identify timely podcast topics, support guest preparation, and strengthen audience relevance.
  • Apply strong writing, copy-editing, and verbal communication skills to support podcast scripts, promotional copy, show descriptions, guest communications, and editorial recaps.
  • Maintain awareness of IT, SAP, and enterprise technology trends to help shape relevant podcast conversations for ASUG members and partners.
  • Coordinate multiple podcast projects and deadlines while communicating clearly with hosts, guests, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Education/Experience:

College degree in communications, journalism, media production, audio production, marketing, digital media, or a related field. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in podcast production, audio editing/engineering, digital content production, journalism, marketing communications, or a related role, including experience managing production timelines and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Computer Skills:

Candidates must possess a strong foundation in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based software technologies, podcast hosting and publishing platforms, content management systems, social media tools, and audio engineering/editing software such as Adobe Audition or similar solutions. Candidates should be able to utilize and adapt to new technologies, support high-quality podcast production workflows, and troubleshoot basic recording, editing, and publishing needs in coordination with internal teams.
