Overview

Becoming a Camp Program Staff member gives you an opportunity to share something you love to do with others and further develop your skills by teaching them to others. Our mission is to help youth discover their potential through life-changing experiences and relationships. Ensuring our campers learn new skills and helping them develop potentially a life-long passion for a new activity is a big part of helping us meet this goal. 

The general season dates are June 20,2026 - August 22, 2026. 

Full-Summer Program Staff:

  • Start date 1: June 3
  • Start date 2: June 7
  • Start date 3: June 14
  • Finish date 1: August 22
  • Finish date 2: August 31

Half-Summer Program Staff:

  • 1st session: June 7 - July 24
  • 2nd session: June 16 - August 22

Responsibilities
  • Planning and leading activities in their program area.
  • Some members of the program staff will also be responsible for supervising other staff members in program areas. This is a great opportunity to learn leadership skills.
  • Ensuring that participants are safe and engaged in activities.
  • Work with other staff members to help campers.
  • In most cases, program staff members will live in a cabin with a group of campers and help with the overall supervision of the campers in activities but also at meals and in the evenings.
  • All staff (and campers) play a role in maintaining the camp property and caring for equipment.
  • Working at camp requires every staff member to cultivate a positive attitude and willingness to help in all areas of the camp experience.

Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age and/or older. Some positions may require staff to be older.
  • Prior experience with one of our programs or with another camp program is preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR/Lifeguard Certified preferred but will provide certification to applicants who are available to participate in extended training.
  • Experience and knowledge in an activity that is offered at camps such as swimming, boating, climbing, arts and crafts, ceramics, woodworking, carpentry, nature, living history, outdoor living skills, horseback riding, sports, media, cooking, hiking/trips/camping, target sports, dance, performing arts, or photography. (Please note all activities are not offered in all programs).
  • Experience teaching the skill to others.
  • Must be able to provide proof of a physical within the last 18 months and proof that you are up to date on all required immunizations. 
  • Under Massachusetts state law, our campus is a drug- and alcohol-free zone. No one, regardless of legal age, is permitted to consume alcohol or drugs including nicotine or tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) on the Becket-Chimney Corners properties.
