LOCATION: Washington Elementary

Responsibilities:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strategically teach math to students in the Title I math program

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Communicate and support parents related to teaching their children math

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support math staff development at the building levelย ย ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Support Building Level Teams related to the improvement of math achievement

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Collaborate with district staff on initiatives to improve math achievement

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assist with planning and teaching, if possible, elementary summer school math and extended learning

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Prepare and deliver focused math intervention instruction in a small group Title 1 Math setting

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Interpret assessment data to identify students' strengths and weaknesses to drive instruction

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Collaborate and confer with classroom teachers in a variety of ways (i.e., PLCs, model lessons, planning,ย standards discussion, analysis of student work)

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Serve as a resource for teachers with selection of materials, teaching techniques/strategies, and how to relateย instruction to support student needs

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provide resources for classroom teachers, para-professionals, aides, and parents

Qualifications:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Valid Kansas Teacher License/Certification

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Content knowledge and expertise in teaching elementary math problem solving, algebra, geometry, numberย sense, and computation

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to analyze and interpret assessment data to identify students' strengths and weaknesses

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to facilitate building math professional staff training

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to facilitate family math training evenings and extended learning for students

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues/parents

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge and understanding of the progressions of mathematics

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Knowledge of curriculum development, and effective math interventions/strategies


Experience:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Preference for minimum of 3 years of successful experience

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Preference for Master's degree with significant math coursework

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Successful leadership and or experience in providing parent and staff training
